We are excited to announce that this year’s Mid-Atlantic meeting — IRELAND: Borders | Bridges — will be held at Hunter College’s historic Roosevelt House, Friday and Saturday Nov. 1 and 2. This gorgeous building, really a mansion, is located on Manhattan’s upper east side, just a few blocks from the Hunter campus hub. Roosevelt House is at: 47 – 49 East 65th Street, between Park and Madison Avenues.
Transportation to and from the venue is easy: take the (MTA) 6 train to the 68th St./Hunter College stop and walk down a few blocks and over (from Lexington) to between Park and Madison Avenues. (You’ll walk westward, in the direction of Central Park.) The N, R, Q and W trains also stop nearby, within just a few blocks of Roosevelt House.

When at Roosevelt House, we are about a block from Central Park, quite near the Central Park Zoo, and just a few short blocks from the Frick Collection Museum, The Asia Society, The Met Breuer, the Artist’s Institute, Carnegie Hall, and, for the foodies among us, you won’t want to miss Ladurée and their brilliant selection of French macaron! St. Patrick’s Cathedral is a good fifteen, twenty minute walk down the block, on 5th Avenue near 51st Street.
The historic Roosevelt House is the former home of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt.
